| Welcome to the Wildlifeuk newsletter |
I must start by apologising for the lack of a newsletter recently. This is partly my fault and partly BTs, being as we live in the middle of nowhere, our service which has been suspect since we moved here, finally packed up leaving us without a phone for some time. Still we are back on now so here is the latest. Most of the last couple of months I have been adjusting my camera kit, my association with broadcast video has ended, largely due to the unreliability of the kit in question. Coupled with Sony broadcast non-existent service, I have called it a day and moved over completely to film, (the picture quality is superior any way). As a result, I have had a clear out. Much time, has been spent down at Les Boshers place in south Wales, who has been modifying all sorts of items for me, including remounting some lenses to universal mount, for use on both film cameras and still cameras. The canon L series lenses are prime candidates for such modification. Les is a true camera engineer, and as such seems to come up with most requirements. Check out his web site for more info. www.lesbosher.co.uk The high light recently has been a Peregrine falcon, which has been visiting our garden, giving some spectacular action as it tries to grab crows. The most memorable instance saw the bird chasing a crow right up to the kitchen window. The kites are regular visitors as are the buzzards, and a goshawk puts in occasional appearances. Our nearest neighbour has otters on his land, and just lately, these fabulous animals have been crossing our land, so I have plenty to be getting on with, the only complaint is the weather, which has been lousy, still I guess you cannot have everything.
