Welcome

Hello once again, (late as
usual), “why” I hear you ask. Well we have moved yet again, back to
the Isle of Wight, whence we came, Julie prefers the island, so here
we are. I am pleased to announce another gallery, birds no.4, Check
it out, one point of interest, if you look at pic noGH075 this Barn
Owl nest is the same as no.GH009, the box being specially designed
for photography, however as the young progressed, to continue to
remove the top of the box, would have caused problems. With the
possibility of the young leaving before they were ready, one had to
put the birds first at all times. One advantage of this, was the
ability to produce contrasting images of the same site at the same
time. The time difference between these two pics, was about ten
days. Another tes tament to Jim's carpentry skills. There are also
some more of Jims excellent images, with many more to come. Thanks
must go at this time to Steve Barnett, who maintains this site,
Steve is always there to add images, alter the site and bail out
computer idiots like me, when I press the wrong button. Cheers
Steve. Shortly I head back up to central Wales, there is a few gaps
that need to be filled for the Kite film, so back we go, still we
are nearly there now. WATCH THIS SPACE--- Shortly we are offering a
new product, if you are one of the many people who own a Discovery,
Shogun, Fronterea or similar, we will be offering spare wheel covers
in association with UK Covers, with wildlife images from the site.
Keep an eye out for the completed page and prices, which Steve is
preparing now. On a lighter note, I took Connor my four and a half
year old son, on his first badger watching trip last week, down to
John and Marion Proctor's place down in Shanklin. John and Marion
have recently had an extension to their lovely home which includes
an outside balcony facing up to the woods. All week Connor was
suffering from a heavy cold (which he has shared round as kids do)
but even this did not dampen his enthusiasm. The evening started
well, with a Barn Owl flying alongside the car on the way, and
continued in the same vane for the rest of the evening. I am pleased
to report that not only was Connor quiet (not expected) but he also
spotted the first fox of the night, and yes, I am pleased to report
he did see a badger on the edge of the woods, the beaming smile made
the whole evening worthwhile. Many thanks to Marion for arranging
the trip for connor, and for the refreshments while we were
watching. The whole adventure, made an impression as next day he sat
down and dr ew Marion a picture of the event. Well that’s all for
now. Keep your eye on the site as there are set to be some changes.
